It’s like he’s been around for eons. You cannot NOT believe in old souls once you meet him, either that, or the reincarnation of a great philosopher. He’s one of those distinguished gentlemen-type that send you back into a time-warp with his Colgate smile, charming good looks, and manors out of a Fitzgerald novel. But, it’s his undeniable wisdom that I picked up on and intuitively knew this old soul had some conscious insights to share on S|HE IS.
a life purpose is to make a change.
In Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, Book by Yuval Noah Harari, he speaks about human DNA being able to change as part of our evolution through our genetic code, that we are made to adapt and become something more, but we have been formatted the same for too long. We must return to the earth, interact with one another beyond the internet and electronics. We are moving too fast in that area, but not amongst ourselves.
C: What would be your message to the world right now about taking ACTION, following your dreams and goals:
Y: When you follow your dreams the hours and efforts you put in do not feel like work. Sometimes, society likes to say that work should not be a deed without any windows to enjoy it. But, being “serious” about the ACTION you take does not mean boring and painful. Find something that makes you wake up at sun rise.

|HE IS aware, creating a new world. Live in the present, get into nature, question yourself and you'll find all you need.
"If we are often dreaming of the future or live in the past, we are not being fully present. Living in the now, you will be able to recognise opportunities, and have the awareness to take step by step directions to get to the dreams you are chasing." - Yann Duboux

Many people search their whole life to understand their purpose or tap into the idea of why they are here, what makes them truly happy, and what necessary ACTIONS they need to take to make it their reality. Some have never dare brave the question. But, when you do, you begin living from your authentic self, and these are the people I love to meet.
Yann felt that he reached his true-self at a young age. He spent a lot of QT being alone, contemplating life, reading books and observing a society he never fit into. He believed that being an outsider influenced him to look deep within himself to find his true personality. With such depth, |HE IS able to take his expression of self even further into his acting career. I met up with Yann to capture him inside his London home in Belgravia to discuss self-awareness, a couple good books we should all read (Sapiens, A Brief of Human Nature and The Little Prince) and the places that bring him great inspiration.
C: What do you see as your life purpose:
Y: "Growing" through life and its experiences, acknowledged to me that we are in constant state of evolution. Each step is in the unknown, each step has a new surrounding, each step will not be alike the previous one.
I use to have targeted dreams that had no notion of real continuity. I started getting scared and I would asked myself, “If I reach that dream, what will happen next?”
I, then, started to realise that I should have one purpose, and one only: “I dreamt that when I start my eternal sleep, that when someone writes a biography about my life, it is the notion of a life purpose, more than a singular perishable objective.”
C:Why do you believe it's important to follow your calling?
Y: I believe it is important to bring your personality into what you do. The aim is to be yourself and know that it is good enough that way, don't try to be or act like someone else. You need to follow your gut to be successful and innovative. Otherwise, you will just be a a shadow of someone else’s work. Be secure with yourself, rely and trust upon your own decisions, your own beliefs, and your own desires. Only that way you will create.
C:The world will change when…
When people will understand that we have more that 10’000 years of evolution in our genes. It has only been in the last 300 years we are living the lifestyle as we do nowaday. After the industrial revolution, many old socio/economic concepts that were created to unify human kind are now overrated. We should learn from the earth and its resources to create a new model for society. It goes back to your first question,
C: Tell me some of YOUR truths:
Y: Blind trust in my education and my own morals brought me freedom. Freedom gives me spontaneity which creates adventure. Adventure takes me out of my comfort zone.
C: Tell us your 3 top disciplines you do every day and why you do it:
Y:1.The five Tibetan rites also known as the ¨Fountain of Youth¨. The ritual takes 10 minutes every morning which aim to stretch, strengthen and wake up all the organs and muscles of the body.
2.The first thing I do in the morning on an empty stomach is drink a glass of water with a full lemon sliced in it. Cleans, hydrates and a daily dose of vitamin C.
3. I do something good for someone without expecting anything in return. Lets spread happiness.
C: What other projects are you working on?
Y:I love answering your questions, but it is hard not to give short answers (laugh). No, seriously, I am writing my first novel, it is a relaxing exercise which has no deadline.
Additionally, I am having fun on a fascinating online platform to help me in my craft of acting when I have free time. It is called Master Class. I work with Kevin spacey (acting), Werner Herzog (Directing), James Patterson (writing), Annie Leibovitz (photography) and Dustin Hoffman (acting). They are very interesting and give insanely good tips!
C: About his favourite book and why he thinks everyone should read it at least once in their life:
Y: The Little Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupery: (Chapter 1, Page 8) “In the course of this life I have had a great many encounters with a great many people. […] Whenever I met one of
them who seemed to me at all clear-sighted, I tried the experiment of showing him my Drawing Number One. […] But, whoever it was, he, or she, would always say: "That is a hat.” Then I would never talk to that person about boa constrictors, or primeval forests, or stars. I would bring myself down to his level. I would talk to him about bridge, and golf, and politics, and neckties.”
Society tames us through adulthood, controls us by telling us “weird” is not right because some are not creative enough for their own truths. The Little Prince stays open and is not afraid to ask questions, he observes and makes his own opinions by staying true to himself. When you try to be like everybody you end up being nobody. In this book, there are so many great life lessons and to stay true to oneself.
C: Favourite place in the whole world.
Y: I have had the chance to discover many parts of the world. Ibiza is one of my top places, also being, my home away from home. I live in Ibiza and London throughout the whole year. People have the misconception about the island, believing it is only a party place. But, for me, the drum, bass and pills are only 30% of the island. The rest of the air is dominated by nature and hippies. The north will regenerate you in a blink of an eye.
However, my number one choice would be my home country of Switzerland. I am from Lausanne, my source of souvenirs. I get in my car and drive to the lake; you name it- fishing, swimming, wake boarding or rowing surrounded by the most breathtaking landscape. Back in my car, 45 minutes drive, I am breathing the mountain air at 2000 meters or higher. To get alone with nature to get inspired, because in the end, mother nature created us.
Thank you, YANN, for just being… BEING YOU, YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF. #yesHEIS #HEISinspiration #HEISart #HEISculture
